Minister Cummings Rubbishes Reports That His Home Was Searched By Police

By Newsroom

Minister of Youth Development and National Service, Foster Cummings, has described as pure mischief, claims that his home was searched by police earlier this week.

Setting the record straight on Saturday, Minister Cummings, through a statement by his attorneys, rejected the narrative as an attack against his character.

“Minister Cummings is cognizant that as a holder of public office, attacks are inevitable, however he is also a firm believer in rejecting lies and mischief aimed at him,” the statement read.

It continued: “There has been no police search of his home or any property in which he may have an interest.”

“It must be underscored that the Honourable Minister has not been contacted or questioned relative to any police investigation or matter. Furthermore, he has not been informed that he is the subject of any investigation by the police or any other authorities. The rumours being perpetuated are false, misleading and are evidently designed by others to attempt to damage his reputation.”

Reports of a senior government official’s home being searched first began circulating on Wednesday.

The following day, Police Commissioner Gary Griffith issued a statement, also clarifying that no such search as was reported, had been carried out by any of his officers.
