Minister of Rural Development and Local Government, Faris Al-Rawi is rejecting the claim from the Chaguanas Borough Corporation that they have to send home approximately 624 workers because of the alleged unavailability of monies for salaries requested by the CBC.

In a press release, the minister said that he found it appalling that the CBC had threatened workers for alleged non-receipt of approximately $3M whilst sitting on over approximately $8.6M. An amount he believes is more than enough to pay workers.
