Ministry Offers Social Support For Family Of Toddlers Found In Poor Living Conditions

By Newsroom

The Ministry of Social Development and Family Services says help will be provided to the family of two toddlers who were found unsupervised at a home at Red Hill, D’abadie last week.

The toddlers were placed in the care of the Children’s Authority as there were also concerns about the state of the home the children were found in.

Officials of the Ministry visited the children’s parents today, offering grant support and counselling services.

“During the visit, the Ministry conducted an assessment and advised the family of the grant offerings available to them, given their living conditions at this time. Psychosocial support and counselling were also offered to the family.  The NFSD intends to work closely with the Children’s Authority (CATT) to determine and develop an effective intervention strategy to rehabilitate this family unit,” the Ministry said.

It added, “The Ministry of Social Development and Family Services remains committed to helping, empowering and transforming lives and supporting healthy, functional families.”
