The North West Regional Health Authority (NWRHA) has responded to videos making the rounds on social media which suggest a monkey and a snake had been found on the compound of the Port of Spain General Hospital. 

In an official statement on Saturday, the NWRHA confirmed that a monkey had, in fact, been found at the hospital on Friday, following up that immediately, the Emperor Valley Zoo was called in to retrieve the animal. Claims that a snake had also been found, however, are false according to the Authority’s statement.
