More Stolen Cars Recovered in South

More vehicles have been recovered in the Southern Division as yet another intelligence-led exercise produced positive results yesterday. According to the TTPS, the exercise was conducted between 9 am and 6 pm, on Tuesday 25th April 2023 and included officers of the Stolen Vehicles Unit, the Southern Division Task Force, and the Princes Town, Barrackpore
and Ste. Madeleine Criminal Investigations Departments (CID).

During the exercise, search warrants were executed at several motor vehicle garages in the Princes Town district. At one such establishment, officers found and seized one silver Nissan AD Wagon with no registration plates, bearing a tampered chassis number.

At another business place in the Indian Walk district, officers seized the following:

– One Honda City engine which had been assigned to a white
Honda City motor vehicle and was reported stolen in the
Arouca district in January 2023.
– One engine with a tampered engine number.
– One silver Nissan AD Wagon shell with a tampered chassis
number.
– An assortment of Honda City vehicle parts.
– One Honda City Key Fob.

These seizures follow the arrest of five suspects on Monday 24th, April, 2023 also in the Princes Town district and the recovery of several motor vehicles which were reported stolen. Meanwhile, in the South Western Division, Task Force, Penal CID and Municipal Police officers conducted an Operation Safe Streets anti-crime exercise between 1 pm and 6 pm, on Wednesday 25th April, 2023, in the Penal district.

During the exercise, three persons, a 24-year-old, a 44-year-old and a 53-year-old, all of Penal, were arrested for possession of marijuana, while a fourth suspect was held for being in an Enclosed Premises for an Unlawful Purpose.

Investigations are ongoing into all of the above matters.
