Multi-Agency Effort Along with Technology Helps TTPS Nab Double Murder Suspect

The TTPS has said after intensive investigations and coordinated efforts by officers of the Northern Division and other Units, a suspect wanted in connection with a double murder, which occurred on January 2, in the Western Division.

According to the TTPS, officers conducted a joint search exercise along the Blanchisseuse Road, Arima, between 1 pm and 8:15 pm, on Tuesday 2nd January 2024, during which they apprehended the suspect, a Warrant Officer II, attached to Cumuto Barracks, Camp Cumuto.

The exercise included multiple personnel from the Northern Division, the Arima Operational Crime Patrol, the Coastal and Air Support Unit, the Canine Branch and the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force. Extensive searches were conducted via foot and drone technology in the district for the suspect.

The suspect is wanted in connection with the murders of 43-year-old Calida Schamber and 66 year-old Carmelita.
