By Newsroom

Jesse Daniel, of Crown Trace Enterprise, was granted bail of $200,000 or cash alternative of $17,000 when he appeared  before the Chaguanas virtual Magistrates’ Court today, to answer to the charge of manslaughter.

The 27-year-old is one of three men charged in the murder of 28-year-old Vicky Baldeo, of Crown Trace, Enterprise, who died on February 28, from wounds sustained three days earlier.

Baldeo was struck down by an oncoming vehicle in his attempt to escape being further beaten by three men. The accused, Jesse Daniel, subsequently surrendered to police at the Chaguanas Police Station last Wednesday, after months of evading arrest by the Homicide detectives.

The matter has been adjourned to July 15.

It will be heard jointly with the other accused, Akile Smith and Warren John.

Smith and  John were previously arrested and charged with manslaughter.
