Prisoner Nigel Mungroo has been recaptured after making a brazen escape from the Remand Prison at Golden Grove over the weekend.

Mungroo, who had been incarcerated since 2015, complained to authorities of feeling unwell at around 5pm on Saturday, but whilst being escorted to the Infirmary, he made a dash for the perimeter fence in the vicinity of Waterloo Road, Arouca.

He was recaptured at the corner of Royal Promenade Road and Trinity Road, and will now face additional charges for escaping.
