Gunmen opened fire at a wake along the Trainline in St. Augustine last night, killing one man.

Chris Pooran was pronounced dead at hospital while a woman identified only as Indrani, Joseph’s sister, was injured.

The wake was being held for Omardath Dillon Joseph, the melon vendor who was gunned down in Caroni last Friday.

The attack is the latest in a spate of violent crimes plaguing the family. 

Joseph’s cousin, Aneesa Ramkissoon, was shot and killed at her home on Freeman Road on March 3. Her home was later destroyed in a suspected arson attack.

Joseph himself had been shot two prior times, before he was killed on the third try.

The killings are also linked to the January double murder of teenager Darshan Ramnauth and Gino Shah who were gunned down near Ramnauth’s Freeman Street, St Augustine home.
