A shooting incident in Tunapuna on Saturday night claimed the life of one man. 

The victim has been identified as 37 year old Kevin Venus, also known by the alias “Venus” of First Trace, off Maingot Road.

According to police reports, Venus was standing along the roadway at around 9:10pm, when gunmen approached in a brown Nissan B13.

Two men exited the vehicle and fired at him.

Residents told police they saw the men speed off, after which they searched the area and discovered Venus’ body  laying on the roadway, bearing gunshot wounds. 

The residents contacted police and ambulance services, however Venus died at the scene. 

Investigations are continuing.
