Minister of National Security, Fitzgerald Hinds has responded to recent media reports about equipment availability for the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service (TTFS).

According to Hinds, on March 20, 2022, the Cabinet of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago approved $30.1 million under the Development Programme, to acquire a fleet of vehicles for the TTFS. A statement from the minister also noted that the vehicles included three water tenders, one emergency tender, one ambulance and one chemical industrial tender, among other vehicles. The vehicles were to be assigned to the Fire Stations at Mayaro, Penal and Pt. Fortin.
