Pro cyclist Nicholas Paul and track and field athlete Michelle-Lee Ahye are the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee’s (TTOC) Senior Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year respectively for 2021.

The pair were given the prestigious awards following an award ceremony that was held earlier today at 6 pm, virtually. The ceremony was called “The Glass is not Half-Empty”. The event was broadcast via Zoom, the TTOC’s YouTube channel, its Facebook page, and its website (https://www.ttoc.org) Wednesday evening.

In a statement TTOC said:

“It was Ahye’s fourth clinch of the crown (2016-18, 2021) while Paul claimed the male edition of the crown for the second time (2019, 2021) while doubling-up as the TTOC People’s Choice Award winner, his third time topping this category (2018, 2019 & 2021).”

Other awards went to West Indies senior women’s vice-captain, cricketer Anissa Mohammed who copped the Future is Female award while heptathlete Tyra Gittens – the Tokyo 2020 Olympic long jump finalist is the TTOC Sports Personality of the Year.
