Another power outage is not expected tonight, February 17, as is being widely reported on social media. That’s according to T&TEC who have refuted that a statement which has been attributed to the General Manager of T&TEC, Mr Kelvin Ramsook, is false.

The statement suggests that there will be a five-hour blackout later tonight.

“Mr Ramsook has issued no statement about the Commission’s ability to adequately supply electricity to customers. At this time, all of T&TEC’s Independent Power Producers are providing the necessary capacity to the grid and we are well-positioned to serve the normal demands going into the peak evening period,” the statement further indicated.
