New York City, Mayor Eric Adams has praised this country’s immigrant community in New York for their effort. The mayor made special mention of small business owners and entrepreneurs as well as the nurses and emergency workers who went beyond the call during the pandemic.

He made the remarks as he spoke to dozens of T&T nationals, including Hazra Ali in the Big Apple for the nation’s Diamond Jubilee or 60 years of independence, yesterday August 31.

He also raised the flag of the twin-island Republic over Bowling Green in Lower Manhattan along with the chairman of the Bowling Green Association, Arthur Piccolo. Adams praised the stellar contribution of the entire Caribbean region to the growth and development of the US.

“Through trade and investment cooperation and partnership in the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative, we have made the region safer and more prosperous. Our countries’ shared values and principles, including an unyielding commitment to democracy, will serve to strengthen our ties in the years to come,” he added.
