Operations Halted At Foreign Affairs Ministry As Employee Tests Positive For COVID-19

By Newsroom

The Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs has been shut down for sanitization, after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

This was confirmed via a statement issued by Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr. Amery Browne, on Tuesday afternoon.

The employee last reported to work on August 14th and received their positive result on Tuesday.

The Ministry has since been closed to the public and all staff sent home.

Majority of staff members are expected to return to work from tomorrow (August 25th).

Staff members who directly interacted with the positive patient will, however, remain in quarantine for 14 days.
