A pensioner has been granted bail with surety of $150,000 after he appeared in court this week charged with one count of Indecent Assault against a minor.

According to TTPS, The 70-year-old of Princes Town was charged with the offence when he appeared before Magistrate Taramatie Ramdass, in the Princes Town First Magistrates’ Court, on December 5th, 2023.

He was granted bail and the matter was adjourned to December 14th, 2023.

The victim reported to police that while at the New Grant home of a relative, a male suspect allegedly asked her to have sex with him. When she refused, the man allegedly touched several parts of her body.

Investigations supervised by W/Supt. Claire Guy-Alleyne, Insp. (Ag.) Ramphal and W/Sgt. Andrews, all of the Special Victim Department (SVD), resulted in the arrest of one suspect on December 4th, 2023. The accused was charged with the offence by Cpl Thompson, also of SVD.
