“People Will Have Full Access To Food,” Groceries Will Not Be Restricted

By Newsroom

Someone hijacked the letterhead of the Ministry of Health and created a fake news release that was being circulated on social media, according to health minister Terrence Deyalsingh who assured members of the public that groceries and pharmacies will be allowed to operate on seven days of the week. This follows the restrictions imposed on hardware as well as ships that sell plumbing and electrical supplies which will now be allowed to conduct business three days of the week.

”People will have full access to food,” the Minister said on Monday morning, with reference to the opening hours of the supermarkets.  He observed that hardware stores were being restricted because “people were browsing the stores and buying BBQ pits and paint and bringing workmen into their homes to paint”. This, according to Deyalsingh, amounted “to non-essential repairs.”
