PM Restates Call for Citizens To Get Vaccinated: “We Have Enough Doses To Keep Us Busy”

By Newsroom

Trinidad and Tobago currently has 883,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines in storage that are still to be administered- enough to fully vaccinate 441,500 people.

This figure doesn’t include doses already administered- which is 804,000.

“It is reasonable to say that anyone who wants to get vaccinated here in T&T, you have access to do so. We have enough vaccines to keep us busy in the coming weeks and months,” Dr. Rowley said at this afternoon’s media conference.

Dr. Rowley expressed disappointment that now that vaccines are available, persons are taking issue with the brand beong offered to them.

He also expressed concern over the fact that only 50% of healthcare workers are vaccinated, and 20% of the prison population.

As of today, 32% of the population has had their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine. In the next two to three weeks, some 100,000 people are due to have their second dose.

A total of 298,481 persons have received both doses to date, representing 21% of the population.
