By Newsroom

Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley will return from his trip abroad tomorrow night and will host a media conference at the Piaro International Airport immediately after his arrival.

The media conference is scheduled for 7:30pm.

Dr. Rowley travelled to Glasgow for the COP26 Climate Conference which began on Monday.

On Thursday, Dr. Rowley met with senior executives at Shell, to advance talks about collaborative efforts in T&T. Energy Minister Stuart Young was also in attendance at the meeting, which took place at Shell’s office in London.

A statement from the Office of the Prime Minister said the talks centred on the recent Cabinet approval of the Production Sharing Contract Amendment for the Manatee gas field, which is a historic development for Trinidad and Tobago. The parties will sign the Manatee PSC in Trinidad and Tobago later this month.

In addition to high-level talks with Shell, Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley has also met with BP while in London, with both parties agreeing to prioritize the completion of the 112 mega watt solar projects which are a joint venture between BP, Shell and Lightsource BP.

The talks also focused on future gas exploration, production and the restructuring of Atlantic LNG.
