Point Fortin Man Held With Five Venezulean Nationals

A Point Fortin man and 19 Venezuelan nationals who are here in the country illegally, have been arrested by officers of the South Western Division, during anti-crime operations conducted over the weekend.

According to the TTPS, in the first incident, a 30-year-old Point Fortin man was held, after five Venezuelan nationals, ages 21 to 33, were found at his home. The exercise was conducted by personnel of the South Western Division Task Force and Point Fortin CID.

Meanwhile, in the Erin district, a total of 14 Venezuelan nationals, ages 5 to 40, who entered the country illegally, were found hiding behind a pirogue on a beach last night, by personnel of the Marine Interdiction Unit. Officers of the Erin Police Station were contacted and the foreigners were detained.

Immigration Division and Children’s Authority personnel were also contacted. Investigations are ongoing into the above matters.
