Point-Fortin man to appear in court charged with murder

A Point Fortin man is expected to appear in court today, charged with the murder of Randy Amoroso. The murder occurred on August 10th, 2022.

The suspect, TYRESE JONES, aka ‘Motocks’, of Warden Road, was charged with the offence, following advice received from Acting Director of Public Prosecutions, Joan Honore-Paul, on Monday 29th August, 2022.

According to an email from the TTPS:

“Amoroso, 38, aka ‘Movado’ also of Point Fortin, was at Tank Farm Road, on August 10th, 2022, when he got into a heated argument with another man. During the altercation, the man allegedly armed himself with a piece of wood and ceramic pot and hit the victim about the head and body several times.

The victim died at the scene, while the assailant fled. A suspect was arrested in connection with the matter on August 24th, 2022. Investigations were supervised by Supt. (Ag.) Dhilpaul and Sgt. Alister Jones, both of Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region Three. Jones was charged by PC Lall, also of HBI Region Three, on Monday 29th August, 2022.
