One man is dead while another suspect, aged 18, is receiving medical treatment following a police-involved shootout in San Juan.

According to a TTPS statement, the suspects were intercepted along the Croisee at around 6:30pm on Tuesday after allegedly robbing a man of his grey Nissan Wingroad vehicle.

As officers ordered the men to exit the car, they were allegedly shot at, prompting them to return fire.

After the shooting ceased, the two suspects who were found to be injured were conveyed to Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.

However, one suspect succumbed to his injuries around 7:25 pm today, while the other suspect, 18, is receiving medical treatment.

The officers also recovered one firearm at the scene of the incident. Investigations are ongoing.
