A police constable is dead following a shooting incident which occurred at Bassie Street in Spring Village, Valsayn at around 10pm on Wednesday.  

The officer, identified as PC Harrynarine, was attached to the Traffic and Highway Patrol Branch.

His killing pushed the country’s murder count to 30.

Reports suggest Harrynarine was seated in his red Subaru vehicle with a woman when two attackers approached and began shooting. 

The woman managed to flee to safety.

CCTV footage shows PC Harrynarine also attempting to flee, however he was chased and shot at close range. His state-issued firearm was also taken by his assailants.
