Police seized a firearm, ammunition, and a quantity of narcotics during an intelligence-led operation in the Morvant Station District yesterday.

According to the TTPS, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Monday 20th October, 2025, officers of the Morvant Criminal Investigations Department, Morvant Charge Room, North Eastern Division Task Force, Emergency Response Patrol, and Community Police Department conducted an anti-crime exercise in the Chinapoo area.

During the exercise, officers searched an abandoned apartment building where they discovered a MAC-10 submachine gun with an extended magazine containing 24 rounds of 9mm ammunition. The team also found nine packets of cannabis, weighing approximately 270 grams. The items were seized and taken to the Morvant Police Station. Enquiries are ongoing into the finds.
