Police have seized 1.038 kilogrammes of cocaine with an estimated street value of $1,447,906.52. Two people were arrested in connection with the drugs by officers of the Northern Division Task Force (NDTF), during an anti- crime exercise, conducted in the El Socorro district yesterday afternoon.

The road block exercise, coordinated by Snr. Supt. Francis and Supt. Carty, was conducted around 2:30 pm, on Monday 23rd October, 2023, and included officers of the NDTF Area South and the La Horquetta Police Station.

According to the TTPS, acting on information, officers stopped a motor vehicle with two occupants. A comprehensive search of the vehicle was conducted which resulted in the discovery of 36 boxes containing computer accessories along with the cocaine. The two occupants, a 58-year-old man of Diego Martin and a 37- year-old woman of Petit Valley, were arrested in connection with the find.

Investigations are ongoing.
