Visitors at Trincity Mall scampered to safety on Saturday afternoon as gunmen opened fire in the carpark of the compound, killing one man.

The victim has been identified as Kevon Solomon, known best by his social media sobriquet, Yank Boss.

Solomin was seated in his vehicle when he was accosted. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Having originally grown his online following on the social media platform Tik Tok where he amassed more than 67,000 followers, Solomon was widely known by his followers- which he called the Yank Nation- for his entertaining lives, catchy phrases and social media war of words with other local contributors to the app. 

Homicide investigators are uncertain of a motive for the killing at this time.
