Prime Minister “Troubled” By Police Findings In SSA Matter

By Newsroom

The weekend shake-up at the Strategic Services Agency came in response to information provided by the TTPS, which Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley admits he is troubled by.

On Sunday, it was announced that Major Roger Best had been sent on immediate administrative leave following a recommendation from the National Security Council.

Prime Minister Rowley says the sudden removal of SSA head Major Roger Best and the appointment of Brigadier General Anthony Phillips-Spencer to act in the post was necessary to ensure the country’s national security was not jeopardized.

While not revealing the discoveries made by police, the Prime Minister acknowledged that the sudden replacement was not an everyday situation, asking citizens to trust that “something must have happened to warrant the action.”
