Queen B Comes Out On Top With Nine 2021 Grammy Nominations

By Newsroom

As if there weren’t already sufficient references,  Beyoncé demonstrated once more why she’s referred to as ‘Queen B’ earning nine nominations in the 63rd Grammy Awards- the most copped by any artist this year.

The nominations include two in the record of the year category, for her solo track Black Parade and her remix of Megan Thee Stallion’s Savage.

Black Parade, which reached the Top 40 on the pop charts, is also nominated for best R&B song and best R&B performance.

She now has 79 nominations in total, extending her record as the most-nominated female artist of all time.

While it’s a significant point for Queen B- her dominance in the music industry is something she has recently decided to place as second priority.

In a Vogue interview earlier this year Beyoncé told British Vogue’s Edward Enninful that she has reached the point in her career where she’s now spending more time focused on joy.

“It would be difficult to experience life in a pandemic and the current social unrest and not be changed. I have learnt that my voice is clearer when I am still. I truly cherish this time with my family, and my new goal is to slow down and shed stressful things from my life… I’ve spent a lot of time focusing on building my legacy and representing my culture the best way I know how. Now, I’ve decided to give myself permission to focus on my joy,” she said in the interview which was published on November 1st.
