By Newsroom

Justice Malcolm Holdip has fined Jamaican Queen’s Counsel Vincent Nelson $2.25 million in restitution. The order came as Nelson was sentenced for his role in an alleged conspiracy with former attorney general Anand Ramlogan and former UNC senator Gerald Ramdeen.

The sentence was delivered earlier today. Nelson was also put on a $250,000 bond for two years. Last year he pleaded guilty to counts of conspiring to commit money laundering, misbehaviour in public office and conspiracy to commit an act of corruption. He has already agreed to turn state witness and testify against Ramlogan and Ramdeen.
