A Rio Claro couple was arrested for possession of a firearm and ammunition during an anti-crime exercise in the Eastern Division on Wednesday morning. 

During the exercise which was conducted between 4:00am and 9:00am, the Officers of the Rio Claro Criminal Investigations Department and Canine Branch, executed a search warrant at the home of a 70-year-old man. 

Officers found one shotgun and eighteen 12-gauge cartridges in the house. The man and his common-law wife were arrested in connection with the find. Investigations are ongoing.
