The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the general public that there will be a temporary road closure on the Clarke Road, Penal between the 4.5 and 4.6km marks, in the vicinity of LP#A34, effective at noon on Thursday.

The Ministry says this has become necessary to close the roadway due to a concern for the safety of road users.

The Ministry of Works and Transport is pursuing emergency slope stabilization works.

Alternative routes are available through Wilson Road and Rampersad Trace. 

The public is advised to utilize the alternative routes and comply with the following directions:
• Proceed with extreme caution and observe all directional signs and barriers.
• Comply with instructions issued by Police Officers and Traffic Wardens, where necessary,
in order to facilitate a safe and orderly flow of traffic.
• Be aware of heavy equipment entering and exiting the work site.
