Roughly 40 Nationals To Be Repatriated From St. Vincent & The Grenadines

Approval has been granted for some 40 nationals to be repatriated via the Galleons Passage from St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The number was confirmed by Principal Medical Officer Dr. Maryam Abdool-Richards, during Monday’s Covid-19 media briefing.

The vessel will sail to St. Vincent on Tuesday morning, to drop off 50 Defence Force Members who will assist in relief efforts in wake of La Soufriere activity.

Meanwhile a repatriation flight from Canada is expected to bring in 140 people on Wednesday, with another flight scheduled from Barbados on Friday.

Dr. Abdool-Richards also revealed on Monday that a T&T national who was recently repatriated from the United States has been confirmed as having the UK Variant of the Covid-19 virus.

The patient remains in isolation in the parallel healthcare system.
