Opposition MP Saddam Hosein says the Attorney General’s office ought to disclose the nature of the trip taken by AG Reginald Armour, given he is on official government business.

Mr. Armour left the country on Tuesday, but a statement from his office gave no specific details about the trip.

MP Hosein is also questioning the timing of the travel, as Mr. Armour’s appointment is currently being scrutinized after being disqualified from representing this country in the Piarco Airport corruption matter.

AG Armour is scheduled to return to Trinidad on Thursday.

“Many are hopeful that the Attorney General has travelled to officially inform the substantive Prime Minister who is abroad that he will be tendering his resignation,” MP Hosein said.
