San-Fernando City Corporation Renames Street In Honour Of The Late Sprangalang

The street leading to Skinner Park in San Fernando has been renamed to Dennis ‘Spralngalang’ Hall Street, in honour of the veteran who died on October 2nd.

San Fernando Mayor Junia Regrello was there to lead the unveiling on Wednesday, joined by the late Hall’s loved ones, including his wife, calypsonian Natasha ‘Sexy Suzie’ Nurse.

In a brief statement on the renaming, Mayor Regrello described Hall as “an iconic giant who helped to shape the cultural landscape of the City.”
 
He added: “For this reason, members of Council thought it fit to name this street in his honor.”

The street renaming is part of activities organized to celebrate San-Fernando’s 32nd anniversary as a city.

This year has been dubbed  “The Year of The Arts”, with the city taking special interest in honoring cultural icons who have committed their lives for the betterment of country.

Also present was CEO of the San Fernando City Corporation, Councillor Ryaad Hosein (Councillor for Les Efforts East/Cipero), the City Engineer, Mrs. Joan Yuille-Williams, Mr. John Hoyte, and Ms. Rachel Price.
