San Francisco will soon enter three week lock down to fight Covid-19

By Newsroom

San Francisco has announced that they will implement strict new measures to curtail the spread of the novel coronavirus. The Mayor London Breed said that from 12am they will implement a round-the clock curfew, which will in effect ban almost everyone from leaving their homes.

He added all residents within the city can only leave home for doctor’s appointments or to go to the grocery store. It’s the strictest new policy enacted in the US so far. The Mayor says the rule will remain in effect for at least the next 3 weeks.

In addition, to the city shut down, at least six Bay Area counties have tod residents to “shelter in place”, which means unless a person’s work falls under the list of “essential businesses,” they must stay home.

The list of essential businesses includes health care operations, grocery stores, shelters, media outlets, gas stations and banks.
