San Juan Man In Court For Murder

Thirty-nine year old Idris Mohammed, of Jo Jo Lane, San Juan,  is expected to appear virtually before a Port of Spain Magistrate today, charged with the murder of Omar Baksh.

Baksh, who had also been known as ‘Crutches’ and ‘One Foot’,  was found with injuries to his body in the San Juan district on February 16th.

He was taken for treatment at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, where he died on the same date.

Mohammed was charged with the offence, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC on Tuesday.

The accused was arrested in the San Juan district by PC Ali of the North Eastern Division’s Emergency Response Patrol Unit.

Investigations were supervised by ASP Douglas, Insps. Ramjag and John and W/Insp. Sylvester, all of the HBI Region 2.
