Shane Ramjattan returns home after being kidnapped and forced to work

By Newsroom

The family of Shane Ramjattan, who went missing earlier this week, is relieved that he has returned home after he said he was beaten and kidnapped. Ramjattan also said that he believes he was taken to Venezuela during the ordeal.

The 24-year-old was dropped off along the Penal Rock Road early yesterday morning. He was blindfolded. Some people in the area recognised him and contacted his family.

According to Ramjattan while driving home he hit a car and that’s when the incident unfolded as some men came out of the vehicle and grabbed him. He said the men then took him to a camp in Moruga where they forced him to work. He said he was tied to a tree and beaten in the forest. At the time of his abduction Ramjattan had close to $7000 on him from his daily sales and winnings from a roulette machine.

Ramjattan was taken to the Penal police station by his father and investigations are ongoing.
