At least ten people were injured during a gun battle in Port-of-Spain. Among the wounded was a 5-year-old boy. Police shot four of the gunmen this afternoon. Two of them died just minutes after police intercepted them after they killed a woman and shot several people.

The incident happened around 2.30 p.m. after a Laventille shop was robbed by four men. As they were leaving the scene of the robbery they fired several shots, one of which hit the little boy. He has since been warded.

The gunmen, who seemed bent on destruction, headed to the corner of Prince and George Streets, Port of Spain where they fired on a maxi-taxi hitting two men and a woman. The woman later died at hospital. Police gave chase and eventually shot all four gunmen. All of them had AR15 rifles.
