Six More Arrested During SoE Operations

Six suspects were arrested in ongoing State of Emergency Operations conducted in the Northern and North Eastern Divisions, yesterday.

In the first exercise, officers of the Malabar Police Station proceeded to Ackbarali East, Extention Two, Malabar, between 11 pm on Sunday 5th October, 2025 and 2 am on Monday 6th October, 2025, where they seized two vehicles, a black Mitsubishi Lancer and a Black Hyundai Elantra.

Checks revealed that the chassis and engine numbers on both vehicles appeared to be tampered with. One 24-year-old Arima man was arrested in connection with the matter.

Meanwhile, in the North Eastern Division, officers of the Barataria Criminal Investigations Department, Police Station, Task Force and Inter-Agency Task Force, conducted an exercise between 12 midnight and 4 am, today, Tuesday 7th October, 2025. During the exercise, a 22-year-old El Socorro man was arrested in connection with reports of House Breaking and Larceny, while a 21-year-old of Aranguez was held for a report of Shooting with Intent and other firearm related offences.

The same party of officers was conducting a road check exercise in the El Socorro district when they stopped a grey Nissan motor vehicle with three male occupants. A search of the car resulted in the discovery of three briefcases, a black knapsack containing gloves and a crowbar and a DVR.

The men, ages 22 to 25, of El Socorro and Malick, were arrested in connection with a report of Burglary in the Tunapuna district. The operation was spearheaded by W/Snr. Supt. Guy-Alleyne, Supt. Birch, ASP (Ag.) Callender and coordinated by Insp. (Ag.) Ramsingh and supervised by Sgt. Mitchell and Sgt. Maynard. Investigations are ongoing into the above matters.
