SPORTSCASTING LEGEND ANTHONY HARFORD LAID TO REST

Renowned and respected sportscaster, Anthony Harford was laid to rest earlier today at the Church of Assumption in Maraval. Scores of friends, family and media colleagues showed up to bid farewell to Harford who was remembered for his passion for the local media, especially sports.

He held several positions in the media throughout his illustrious career. Harford was a pilot before he began his 16-year career with Trinidad and Tobago Television (TTT). He was also the founder of the sports management company, All Sport Promotions in 1988.

At one point in his career, he managed the TT Carifta team and was also the president of the Northern Football Association and a former presidential candidate for the TT Cricket Board.

His death came after a long battle with an undisclosed ailment. Several members of the sporting fraternities in T&T showed up as well. Some included former Strike Squad captain Clayton Morris, and former national goalkeeper Clayton Ince and current coach of the national senior men’s team, Angus Eve.
