St Kitts-Nevis announced their first two cases of the Covid-19 virus, earlier today. The two patients recently travelled to the United States. Health Minister, Wendy Phipps, said the cases were confirmed late Tuesday night and also revealed that the patients are a 57-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man.

They had both been in quarantine since their arrival.

At a press conference she said: “We wish to remind the public that the infection of both patients is travel-related, meaning that the cases of COVID-19 were imported into the country. Every effort is now being taken to prevent the possibility of community or local transmission.”

The Health Minister also said contact tracing had already begun.
