St. Vincent and the Grenadines says it has detected the Mu Covid-19 variant in five samples taken between July 19th and August 9th.

The samples were tested by IMPACT Project Lab through the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA),

Vincentian authorities say all five cases were detected in the community, as contacts of other positive patients.

The Mu strain, first recorded in Colombia, is the latest Covid-19 variant of concern to the World Health Organization.
