Suspect Detained In Connection With Andrea’s Abduction Dies In Police Custody

One of the five men who were detained on Sunday in connection with the kidnapping of 23 year old Andrea Bharatt has died.

According to reports, Andrew Morris, who was arrested by officers of the Special Operation Response Team (SORT) at his home in Arima, died at hospital hours later at 12:45 am on Monday. 

Today marked the fifth day of searches for the woman who was abducted while traveling home on Friday evening.

According to Police Commissioner Gary Griffith, who is leading the investigation, Bharatt had not been found up to 4:30pm on Wednesday afternoon, contrary to posts to social media that her body had been found. 

Rewards totalling $75,000 have been offered for anyone who may have information that can help police locate the young woman.
