Suspect Held Following Fire At Savannah Vending Booths

A Belmont man has been arrested in connection with a mid-day fire which officers believe was intentionally set on the vending booths around the Queen’s Park Savannah.

Five of the booths were completely destroyed with two others being partially damaged. 

The total damage is estimated to be $70,000.

Police Service and Fire Service officers responded to the blaze at around 1pm and the fire officers were able to quickly extinguished the blaze, while police officers detained a suspect, who lives at Mc Shine Lane, Belmont.

The suspect was taken to the Four Roads Police Station for questioning.
