The family of 18 year old Ashanti Riley, who went missing on Sunday afternoon, is hoping that their worst nightmare will soon be over as police officers have detained a suspect for questioning over the young woman’s disappearance. 

The suspect was detained on Tuesday afternoon, and was reportedly found hiding out at his mother’s home in Bagatelle.

Riley was last seen as she boarded a taxi in her hometown of San Juan to meet someone ten minutes away.

Investigators believe the suspect is the driver of the taxi she took.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is urging anyone with information on Riley’s whereabouts can call 999, 800-TIPS or the nearest police station.
