Reports indicate that a man, identified as Michael Thomas was shot and killed in the Valenica area earlier tonight.

The operation was led by Police Commissioner Gary Griffith along with SORT officers. Griffith and the officers went to Valencia where they had information that Thomas was hiding. As they entered the premises they were fired on. Police returned fire killing Thomas.

Police recovered the personal firearm that was taken from PC Nicholas Victor who was shot and killed on Christmas Eve at Rainbow Supermarket in Caroni. More as details are confirmed.
