A teenager has appeared before the Juvenile Court in Fyzabad charged with the Murder of Tyrell Karim, which occurred on April 6th, 2024.

The minor was also charged with Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition, when he appeared before Justice Jack, on Thursday 18th April 2024. Karim, aka “Koke”, 44, of Morne Diablo, was shot and killed along the roadway at Lammy Trace, on April 6th, 2024.

One male suspect was arrested in connection with the matter by officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region Three, with the assistance of other law enforcement agencies on April 12th, 2024.

Investigations were supervised by Supt. Dhilpaul, ASP Persad, Insp. Maharaj and Sgt. Bridgemohan, all of HBI Region Three. The teenager was charged with the offences by PC Mathura, also of HBI Region Three, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on Wednesday 17th April, 2024.
