Ten Arrested For Breaching Covid-19 Regulations

Police arrested 10 people in two policing Divisions within the last 24 hours for breach of Public Health Regulations.

In the first incident, seven men were arrested and charged in Freeport for breach of Covid Regulations, when they were allegedly observed performing construction duties. All seven were granted station bail and are expected to appear at the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court on August 16th to answer the charges.

In the other incident, three men were arrested and charged in Barataria, Aranguez and El Socorro (North Eastern Division) when they were found to be consuming alcohol in a public place.

The exercise in Freeport was coordinated by Snr Supt Curt Simon, Supt Pierre, Insp Ramsumair, and supervised by Cpl. Umaid, while the exercise in the North Eastern Division was coordinated by Ag.Insp Daniel and supervised by Ag.Sgt Murray and Ag.Sgt Pierre.
