Recounts conducted in two electoral districts following Monday’s Tobago House of Assembly election have been completed, with the results remaining unchanged.
The Progressive Democratic Patriots maintain a 14-1 victory over the People’s National Movement, retaining the Buccoo/Mt Pleasant district.
Meanwhile the Darrel Spring/Whim seat remains under the control of the PNM after a recount.
The new THA membership will be sworn in tomorrow, with Farley Augustine to become the new Chief Secretary.
There was a 57% voter turn out in Monday’s Tobago House of Assembly election, according to data from the Elections and Boundaries Commission.
A total of 29,273 votes were cast out of an electorate of 51,383.
Of that number, the Progressive Democratic Patriots won the popular vote, amassing 16,932 votes- roughly 5,000 more than the PNM.
