The Trinidad and Tobago Met Office has issued the first Adverse Weather Alert for this year’s rainy season as the public is warned to prepare for an approaching Tropical Wave.

There is a 70% chance of heavy showers & isolated thunderstorms associated with the passage of a Tropical Wave which may affect the country from 3.00 am to 4.00 pm on Friday.

Activity is expected to peak early Friday morning. 

Street flooding, heavy downpours and gusty winds are expected.

The public is advised to monitor weather conditions and updates from the Met Office as the situation develops.
